bear hunting in the rain

Recommended Posts

I have never found them to move in the rain. Although, I have seen them move shortly after it stops or slows down to almost nothing. So if the forecast looks like the rain could stop before dark or if it is on/off rain I would sit. The first year I ever bear hunted I had planned to hunt on a Friday evening. Well it poured rain all day. I had taking time off of work and I was going to hunt. Soo as I was baiting listening to the thunder and watching the lighting I almost changed my mind. Low and behold the rain stopped about 45 minutes before dark and the bear came wondering in about 20 minutes later. I ended up missing, but that is not what we are talking about anyway.
