I sell all my furs green. I would like to put up but A). Living in town may cause issues, B). Not that good at skinning yet, would rather not screw-up a hide.

Doing a fur for taxidermy is one thing but selling Different.

Maybe I could find someone to show me while I help skin and flesh both mine first then help on his after I get the system down. grin

As far as my rats and the couple of mink caught have left green. dry the fur and just places in the freezer. The animals would only be there about 2 weeks tops. I have wondered about, sending them up to auction in hopes of getting more money. But not having done it before could use some info.

Separate everything with paper. I also like to put fur in an enclosed rubbermaid to keep it separate from my frozen food...Just seems cleaner to me.

If you dont separate the fur with paper it will freeze together, even if you think it's dry. It also keeps the fur looking good for the buyer. If possible, thaw the skins out before you sell them. If they are rolled up the buyer will likely give you some general price based on fur quality but not on size. If you can't thaw it before selling, make sure you freeze the skins flat, not rolled up. At least that way the buyer can see the main differences in size.
