What is a good place to rent a sleeper house on Red? How about Winne and is it worth ice fishing there.

Chad benson always has a nice house and puts us on fish at Upper Red. Winni..........not sure of sleeper.

On Winnie, Highbanks Resort (a sponsor on FM) used to rent Lodge fish houses for sleeping. I haven't fished up there for the past couple years, but we used to have great luck on Winnie.

I think winni has always had a decent perch bite. I just question if they are the size of the shrimp fed perch in the ne sd lakes or devils lake in nd

Years ago I caught my share of 12"+ perch. Every year the qty of jumbos seemed to diminish. That's why I started going to different lakes for out of town trips.

100 fish limits and guys from Wisconsin took care of the good days of perch fishing on Winni. It might be good here and there for a few days, but it is nothing like the past.

Ryan Peterson is the guy for Winni. He also has half a dozen or so nice houses he manages and rents out. Check out his site ( http://www.ryanpetersonsguiding.com). Best part is he'll put you on a good walleye spot and then point you where to go to during the day to chase perch.

In Depth Outdoors did an episode last season on perching on Winni. They're in there.
