Built in strike alarms huh, what do those go for in price?

those are the zebco hawg seekers dont bother they seem gimmicky stick with a baitclicker baitcaster or a spinning reel like the okuma bait feeder or the shimano bait runners. I got a penn peer 209 level wind with baitclicker on a zebco catfish fighter rod

Fsh bloods pic #2 looks usable.

Hand Gunner-I'm use to spinning reels myself.Usually something cheap in the $20-$30 range. So far I break two reels a year on catfish and carp.I get out alot, I meen alot so spending alot of money on a nice reel seems a waste if it's going to break anyway.Unless I'm missing something , that's the mindset I adopted.

Bait casters aren't usually friendly with me.I need a good lesson on those one day

Maybe when Carp00101,gets all us carp geeks together next year for a spring carp together,

Lol

I hear ya lol which is why I got a $15 zebco catfish fighter pole sometimes i hate using my g loomys have to be so gentle and carefull all the time next year im planning to get another zebco catfish fighter in the spinning rod model for the wifey and whoever wants to go fish with me with a okuma baitfeeder reel, something for non baitcasters and something to really bomb bait out far... the built in electronic alarm I just did not understand how it worked I was playing with it at wally world it seems to go off when the whole reel does a quick jerk but then again sometimes it dosnt do anything

Looked at the hawg seeker just now it really does look like a funny rod the first guide is humongous. The alarm works from the reel twisting in the opposite direction as it would spin while reeling seems like it wouldnt be that bad then again it will be alot of playing around with until you get it at the right sensitivity. Most importantly get a real good solid rod holder for it.

Spend the money and buy a good quality baitfeeder reel (Okuma makes several). Unless you purposely try to destroy it, a good reel should last several years, no matter how much you fish. In the long run buying cheaper and replacing is costing you more money.
