LV4HRDWTR
I am thinking of purchasing one of these. Does anyone have any experience with them? How are they to pull in snow? I have a 900 Ranger, I don't think it would be an issue. I am a bit concerned about the skids freezing in even if blocked. Any input would help. Not planning on going from lake to lake, just the one I am on.
Princeton
I have an 8 x 12 v front and can pull it with my big bear 350 with diamond patterned chains on it. You need to get the plastic on the runners, it makes a huge difference. If you are planning on moving around a lot stay on the smaller side, if you are not moving it around a lot then you can go bigger. Also depends on how much weight you put in it. Diamond chains are the way to go as they provide way more traction then the standard cheap chains.
LV4HRDWTR
Thank you for the reply. I am thinking that I would get either the straight 8x10 or the 8x10 V. I would think they would be a little bulky to move around. I want an eight foot and just don't like the design of a wheelhouse that is that wide. I am concerned about the ski's freezing into the slush/water etc....the house is typically not used during the week and I have had my wheelhouse freeze in one time and it was blocked. getting the skis out of ice would not be fun. BGrus
I have the 6X8 purchased in 2010. It has been a good house for 6"+ ice. I pull it with my Yamaha 4 wheeler but have chains on all 4.The only huge downside is that the Aluminum Door ices up bad with my stupid ventless heater. The runners could be made out of heavier extrusion as they are now bent up a little. You won't be pulling it through 1.5-2 ft of snow but early ice it is a great fish house. I hardly use my big house anymore.
Northlander
ay and Chris do a top notch job with these houses. Best bang for the buck by far.
