E-collar batteries question

I'm going on 5-plus years of using my Dogtra 200 NCP Gold collar, and it's still on the original batteries. Should I replace them immediately? Buy new and wait until they die? Also, are they easy to replace? Dogtra site says nothing about DIY. Thanks in advance.

Check out the Collar Clinic. Not sure if all e-collars have replaceable batteries, but if they are replaceable, this place probably has it.

I replaced my dogtra batteries at about year six, the collar is going on twelve. Contacted dogtra and ordered new batteries they shipped with changing instructions. I believe the batteries were $20 or $30. The replacements are still doing fine.
