I won't put a weight on it because I don't think I could accurately say on this picture alone, but it appears to be a small to medium. Keep in mind that the average mn. bear weighs about 125 pounds. Young bear in my estimation. I dont know if the average WI bear is heavier or not, I imagine so. I know one thing with absolute certainty though, it looks much larger than the bears that I'm NOT seeing on my bait right now! Good to see the kids involved. Daytime pics will help some with size estimation. Have fun and good luck!

I'll throw in with a guess of 150 hanging (It's what people without a scale call #250). This is not a big bear but as many have mentioned it's probably bigger than 50% of the bear taken in MN and WI. A huge amount of folks shoot a second year cub that has been recently kicked out by it's mother. Then they put it's head on a log and take a picture from 10 feet behind it. smile

All size guesses aside, if I had never taken a bear before I would have no problem slinging an arrow at that one given a decent shot opportunity. You have to start somewhere and taking any bear is a rush.
