Stoutcat
Hello, all, newbie here looking for some information and hoping this forum can help. I recently purchased some Canada goose decoys from an auction; some were beautiful and pristine, some had been used frequently. Four of the five were wood. The fifth one was what looks like a large rectangular can or tin (such as large quantities of olive oil come in), wrapped in burlap, with a wood neck and head attached, the whole mostly painted to look (from far away and without glasses) like a Canada goose. Is this normal? No maker's mark or anything, and I'm not quite sure what to do with it. The lot was purchased to sell in my Etsy shop, but I just don't know what to do with this one. Would love to hear if anyone has come across anything like this before. Thanks. Susan
bemidjibasser
Looks like a home made attempt to me...
Tom7227
I sent this picture to a friend who is in the business of dealing in old decoys - he claims to have tens of thousands of them and sells them regularly on line. He reported back that he's never seen anything like this and suspects that it is a home made rig. Value is what you can sell it for.
