removing old sealant

I'm replacing the lap sealant on my camper where the front siding Meets the rubber roof. Anyone have any tricks for removing this stuff? It's like trying to peel cement! What about the rubber? I assume you don't want to use a putty knife on that?

I would go around with a plastic putty knife and remove anything that is remotely loose. Might even take a utility knife and carefully trim spots where the edge is coming loose and then re apply. Get the good cauld, if you use the cheaper stuff you will regret it, that is from past experience.
