13 wicked rods

I think they're a great bang for the buck rod. I have a couple of them. The reel that comes with a combo isn't bad either. I bought mine from Fleet, they go on sale once in a while there and I think I got the rod for $20 and the combo for $40.

I'm not a big fan of pre-made combos, but last winter I did the shopping for our company X-mas party and will say they were the best that I found.

Store combos have improved dramatically in the last couple years. It seemed like every reel before that felt like you were using a hand crank meat grinder blush

Ended up using one....ultra light or light can't remember..... quite a bit towards the end of last year and no doubt for a stock rod and the price...... it was very respectable. Had a good sensitivity for a light crappie bite, enough backbone for the eyeballs, and handled the abuse that I and an 7 year old put equipment through. Like B-man, used to mainly use custom rods as well, but for 1/4 to 1/5 of the price, personally, probably won't be buying anymore in the near future.....well, maybe ....if the Mrs comes home with another expensive purse smile

I bought a wicked ice combo last year and love it. Just replace the grease in the reel and its a very nice. The combo is sensitive yet has decent backbone for some bigger fish.
