creeping charlie

Just about anything you put down is safe for your dogs. The best time to attack creeping charlie is in fall. Think Labor Day or later, but the best results are after the first frost. There are plenty of liquid products that work specifically for ground ivy/creeping charlie. Most liquids are safe once they dry. In other words, after 2-3 hours, the ground is safe for your pets.

Creeping charlie tends to dominate is shady areas with poor grass density. Eliminating creeping charlie is nearly impossible, but I've had good luck in the past using a product called momentum. I'm not sure if thats the best anymore, but it worked. It still takes 3-5 years to really make a difference. If you're really looking to make a change then you may need to nuke it. Time to decide on the results you want. Creeping charlie is not like dandilions, its tough.

Fertilome Weed Out and add fertilome spread sticker to the concentrate. I mix these in my back pack sprayer and spot spray. The active ingredient that takes out broadleaf including CC is Trimec.

You can do it now you will just need a couple additional applications and maybe a bit more stout mix. Typically works best when whether averages less than 80 AND/OR prior to the CC flowers.

I don't really know if it's safe for animals, but I've used a product called Weed Free Zone on

3 different yards to get rid of some pretty bad creeping charlie. Works great! Bought it at

Gerten's, but I bet you can get it all over

Hey I consider that no problem when many people I have encountered have been battling it for years. grin

I have also knocked it out on several properties with a regular 3-way after a few applications. If you don't get it right away though that stuff will build up an incredible immunity to 2-4D after time.
