Electrical Question

I am installing a French door in an existing finished wall. On either side of the dooor there are outlets. I need to relocate the wire up and over the door however I do not have access to one of the outlets as it goes around a corner. It is 14-3 with ground wire. What are my options in splicing? Can I have a junction box behind the sheetrock between the studs?

Not sure of what else to do.

Thanks for your input,

Iceseeker

What we normally do is cut in another outlet along side of the door keep the wire form the outlet around the corner long enough to reach and repull between the new box and the other outlet.

Jboxes HAVE to be accessible. The easiest thing to do will be to remove some sheetrock and put things where you want them. It may sound like allot of work, but it's pretty easy it will just make a little dust when sanding.

I did something pretty similar five yrs back.Framed and trimmed out an opening for a restaurant kitchen. After carfully removing sections of the drywall I discovered the wiring happen to run where I needed to construct.I ended up rewiring around the opening and placed a jbox on the bottom of the wall. The location in the restruant of where the junction was visible, the owners also requested to paint the cover to match wall for a better hide.
