Lowrance Elite 5 HDI issue

First year with this Lowrance finder and the only problem I'm having is, when I'm floating over a point or over some structure, the GPS dosen't keep up. While I'm floating over a point, the little trianlge boat icon does not move. I have to shut it off and back on, and then it see's that I moved.

Has no problem when I'm motoring across the lake, just when I'm drifting.

Is there a setting that I need to changed somewhere in the menus to get this to work..?

How fast are you moving? At very slow speeds .5 mph or less GPS has a tough time determining movement and direction.

Settings wise make sure you have waas enabled in the settings. Also make sure you do not have anything interfering with its ability to get satellite signal.

Mine did the same thing last year if there was a Navionics chip in it. This winter I downloaded the latest update from Lowrance and the GPS screen hasn't frozen this season.
