so i have 2 boats 1 is a smoker craft 14' has a floor etc. the second is a g3 14' boat more of a basic boat if you will. i dont use the g3 as much but it is nice when i get the families together or when i'm alone its easier for me to unload. the smoker craft is new just got it. we use it alot because its sturdier and we can stand up better. i do like the g3 because its a little faster and easier for those quick fish trips. dont really need cash so its not a issue would you keep it or sell it. storage is no issue at all i've asked before but just unsure thanks

I don't think anyone but you can make that call. They do sound kind of similar both in size and use.

I will say that owning boats that are different from each other offers some advantages. I have a 1625 Rebel XL which has most of the bells and whistles. We ski, tube, and fish 90% of the time out of this boat. We also have a barebones unpainted 12' Lowe with Honda 2 Hp + oars (benches no floor). It fits in the back of my pickup, so we can go to lakes without a drive-in launch. It's also nice because guests at our property can take it out whenever they want (no concerns of dock rash), teenagers/kids love it, and I get a kick out of running a small tiller from time to time. Also has an anchor system so you can really easily slip bobber fish and then pick up and go. And last year we would drive it 150 feet to the swim platform instead of swimming through the weeds.

Point is, having boats for different uses is nice. Maybe you could sell the G3 and get a smaller boat. Or a bigger boat. Or a pontoon. Or paddle boat. Or whatever. Or keep it smile

If I were in your shoes (don't need the cash - no real reason not to keep it) the biggest question and the deciding factor for me would be do I have room on my property to keep it without my yard looking like something from Sanford and Son.

I will soon be facing a 2 boat dilemma also, I have my dad's boat (70's 16' 35hp console) at the family cabin which will be going on the market soon, so I have to remove it and do something with it. I don't have room at my house to keep it and I currently have a larger newer family/fishing boat. But for sentimental reasons and the flexibility of my old mans boat I do not want to get rid of it at all, arrggg.

Keep it as a guy can never have too many boats. I have my Lund 1800 Pro-V, a 1960 Starcraft runabout for boat cruises, my wife's kayak, and a canoe. I still feel I need another smaller boat like a basic 16' to hit other area lakes by my cabin since my Lund is always on the boat lift. Oh and I should probably have a boat at my house so I can fish local lakes since all the others are up north.
