pflueger president changed?

Love this reel. In fact, I've been attaching this to most all my rods so I can easily swap out spools. Looking to purchase another and noticed they have a "x" after the model names...so what did they Chang and why? Will the spools interchange? Wonder why pflueger would change their best selling reels. Just thinking, if it ain't broken...

What is the last model year President that you own? 1-2 years ago they switched to the newer model with the thicker solid aluminum Bail wire and moved from the wood knob to rubber.

I love my new model.

I can't answer your spool question since I do not own the older model.

Im pretty sure you can exchange the spools... I own a few of both models, but i guess i have never tried. The new spools also have rubber bumps so they can accept braid/fireline without a backing.

I love the beefier bail wire and the rubber reel knob. These are great reels, i own about a half a dozen in all sizes.

I may not answer your question, but' I just purchased a President 6930.( have four 6730) The spools will inter change. I did notice the 6730 isn't as tall as the 6930. Does seem to work, but was having trouble getting it to tighten as much for drag pressure.( may need an extra spacer) Did not try the 6930 spool on a 6730 yet.( will later today)
