Ice castle Arctic insulation ?

I called Ice Castle and they said no they didn't spray the ceilings until this year 2015 . An they just do a thin layer in the ceiling . I thought they told me when I ordered mine that it was sprayed , that's why I paid to have it done . The lady I talked to at IC said that they need to breath so they don't spray the ceiling as thick ! I should have asked if the 13 windows didn't breath enough ! Lol

My 2014 has the ceiling done it was an extra 400 I also called about how thin it was I talked to Tom he told me it was because the roof wouldn't flex right so they pad it with fiber glass after words

I'm pretty sure my walls are all foam though at lease I hope they are

If your metal sided and metal roofed fish house "breathes", it's not built very well. That is a major advantage of spray foam...it seals everything up tight to eliminate those cold winter drafts coming across the lake.

Same goes for a roof "flexing".

The logical answer is that they are using only a thin layer to save on cost and have come up with two convenient (but poor) excuses. I can think of no advantages to putting a 'sponge' inside your fish house wall or ceiling.

The strength to the roof provided by spray foam in very valuable. When I built mine, I used aluminum, covered by a rubber roof. Prior to spray foam, there was considerable flexing in the roof. After spray foam, the roof is very rigid and I've actually stood on the roof.

I hired a professional to do the spray foam and he applied the same thickness on all surfaces.

Castle spray foams against the interior walls and the celling. To completely fill the void between the celling and roof they use the fiberglass with paper back and the pink foam on top of that .
