2014, a season of learning

2014 has really taught me a lot about turkey hunting.

I had a tough time in Mn during the C season.

I hunted in rain, wind and even a little snow!

I learned sometimes turkeys don't want any decoys or calling.

A good blind is worth its weight in gold.

On to Wisconsin!

I have just finish hunting there yesterday.

I seen some birds and even had a tom on the way in!

Only to be crushed when the hens went to him and lead him away.

I learned I need to scout more, my calling really isn't to bad and it is OK not to get a bird.

Here is to next year, I am already counting the days!

Agreed minky. I have spent a lot of hours hunting turkeys this spring and I have few days to try and get my tag on one. I can't say I have not had my chances. I have let 3 bolts go and the first 2 were my fault for missing and the 3rd one well turkeys are tougher than I thought. I agree a good blind is worth the money spent. I will be getting a another call or 2 and trying to up grade my decoys. I will also be doing some coyote control for the rest of the year. I hope everyone else had a good turkey season.
