Fox Problem

Recommended Posts

I have a fox stealing my chickens. Even during the day when I let them out to free range,( but not when Im around to solve the problem) so now I have to keep them locked up. My son has caught it in the aked twice now and chased it off. Anybody with some good ideas on how to resolve this issue.

Thanks

tie chicken to tree with twine. wait by tree with shotgun. shoot fox as it approaches chicken. problem solved. <---This actually works in the right situation. lol

It'll be hard to trap a fox when she's feeding on chickens. I say "she" because it's more than likely a female feeding her pups.

Normally the female or vixen stayes at the den,The male fox brings home food for her and kits till the kits are older then the vixen will hunt.

Your best bet to get the fox is try to see about what time is shows up.Then guage your time according to its normal arrival.22 shotgun makes no difference if you can shoot straight.

Ha, sounds like he's making a play for a new Ruger 10/22 auto shooter! grin

To bad I just sold one at the HSO swap a few weeks ago. Good luck on the hunt! wink

An open can of cat food [ fish is best ] works wonders on hungry fox. Drives them absolutely nuts. Worked good on an aggressive gray male a few years back. We couldn't walk out outside at night w/ out him coming after us. Cat food + .223 AR-10 + patience = peace. The rest got the message.

Well I set out the traps last night with two live chickens in a cage (everything fox urined) and turned on the varmint caller (rabbit squeeler) for about a minute just to get there attention. No luck. Try again tonight.

Turtle Man LMAO, Now that I would like to see. A toothless hillbilly running around screaming YAYAYAYAYAYAYA LOL

Thanks Guys,
