Looking for hook options for crappies in wood/brush cover with livebait. Tried hooks with wire guards but hook perc went down. Never tried circle hooks, not sure if they are an option. Otherwise still at light wire hooks just to get em back, looking for suggestions!

Outdoor News had a good article on fishing wood for crappies-they did not reccomend a hook.

Owner used to make a hook with 2 stands of fine spring steel in a 'V' to protect a super sharp hook

it was a drop shot hook but I used the larger one for wacky rigging the small one if you can find it would be great for crappies in the brush-otherwise fine wire and strong line is a great combo for brush duty.
