Ever fish farm irrigation systems?

So in 8 days I'll be moving, will be right on the Cobb river but all the farmers use it for irrigation around where I'll be(just north of MN Lake). Do you think fish travel that far in there? And It'll be on our property..I'm not going to fish a farmers land without permission.

Have fun with creek chubs, thats about all you'll see in most or those irrigation "creeks" however on a quick glance on a satellite image this Cobb river looks like it could offer more. Probably some suckers too. As far as a steady game fish population, I'd be surprised if it could sustain.

Thats the Big Cobb river,You'll hammer the northerns in spring at high water,some areas catfish.Get a kayak float it you'll be surprized!Some areas wher the small lakes knight,perch and another one???? connect to it are must try spots!!

I used to fish an irrigation creek along the Iowa border all summer long and hammer some awfully big northers. It was about 3/4 of a mile from a lake, so they would be in there as long as the summer didn't get too dry. In August the water was still 4 feet deep or so.
