Outing trails.

Headed up to outing next weekend staying at bass lake. Just wondering about the trails up there. Places to go is there any logging roads to hit. Sort of looking for a mix of trails and boondocking. Thanks chad

I have a friend with a cabin on Washburn lake north of Outing. We usually shoot down the lake to the campground road at the end of the lake and hit co rd 48 and take the ditchs up to the state trail. The state trail will run south back to Outing or all the way north to Longville or Remer. There are all kinds of off shoot logging roads that you can break off of. I would bring a trail map and a GPS. Most of the logging roads are not marked on the trail map and you can get twisted around back in there. For boondocking there is a big highline that runs from Hwy 6 all the way over to the Old Grade above CrossLake with a lot of swamps along the way. Have fun but the snow is pretty deep so watch for stumps and big rocks!
