The Shag did it again

English Setter Shadow Oak Bo has won the 2014 National Field Championship. That makes 2 years in a row. This is the first time a setter has gone back to back since the setter Sioux did it in the early 1900's. This dog is now a living legend.

Wow! Sorta makes an old dog man feel good about the world again. There was a time when a perfect sunny and crisp fall afternoon was not complete without a slow stroll through some brown and gold cover without a setter or two sweeping ahead with noses down and tails high.

Wonderful dogs that have almost faded away and now perhaps will get some of the attention they deserve. And what a joy to see somebody breeding strong hunting dogs.
