Duluth birders!

What are my options for seeing Bohemian waxwings, hoary redpolls, or other semi rare and hard to spot birds in the Duluth area? I know about Sax-Zim for owls. Interested in Boreal Chickadees, black backed woodpeckers, rough legged hawks, and the above listed.

The bog is also good for Boreal Chickadees and Black-backed Woodpeckers.

Not to promote other websites, but if you go on the most popular social media site, look for the sax-zim bog page, a birding guide puts a blog post up every other day or so, of the Duluth, Ely, and Bog area of what is around. Last week I went to the bog, saw boreal chickadees, and a couple waxwings, lots of down and hairy wood peckers but I heard a blackbacked had been seen around there. But look for Mike H and he posts almost every day with a list of were everything has been seen.

Thanks, that may be my best bet, but a day at Sax Zim is planned for Thursday. Today I need to find someplace different. Heading up towards Finland I think.

I was watching the Snowy Owl that is located around the ball fields at the intersection of Jean Duluth road and Riley yesterday.
