perchking
Just as the title states, I am looking for a light but functional skid house for my cottage in Norther Wisc. I am a wood-stove kind of guy, so I am for sure going to have someone build me a bump out for the stove to open the useable square footage of the house. Not going to be sleeping in the house, so bunks are not needed. Looking for 4-6 holes with catch covers and windows on all sides to view tipup locations. Will be going with gas lights, I dont want the bother of bringing in batteries, I have the lights so I will use them. My main goal is to show my kids fishing can be comfortable and light weight. I do not have an issue pulling it, I have a gator with tracks so that shouldn't be an issue. We currently have about a foot of snow in the ice, so I need to take that into considerations. So any pics or ideas would be greatly appreciated, not looking for tv's or anything electrical, they get enough of that in the cottage and at home. I am thinking for a size, either a 6x10 or a 8x10 is as big as I want to go. Oh, and the yuppie wife says it has to look nice:)I looked on the c---list and lots for sale but nothing to my liking. Trying to keep the budget around 1500-2K
BartmanMN
For Sale section has one, but well above what you are looking to spend. Wife would think it is purdy though.http://hsolist.com/ads/ridgeline-6x10-ice-house/
perchking
yup there are a fair amount of those alum shacks for sale in the UP and N Wisc, the link you sent me that price is more or pretty close to a new one. The good thing is, I really dont need one, I just really want one. I need to find someone who needs to sell, more than I need to buy. There is a manufacture in the UP that sells those identical houses for 3300 with pine interior. I may go that route come this spring if not I may build something.

perchking
I pretty much know how much they are new, I am a slightly used type of guy/buyer I also like projects and would be willing to build one this summer if I can't find a used one. Open for ideas you wish you had in your skid house and the must haves. Also would like to see pics of your house it may spark some ideas for everybody... fishinnut_3446
Not a skid house but a drop down Sturgeon shanty. Built it last year but sold it already, going to build a tip down with wheels.
Northlander
If I were getting a skid house Soderblooms would be my only stop. Great houses and better service from Jay and Chris. Just do a search on Soderblooms.
