Heck, go on out and find good spots to call your own. The well known ones are always crowded, seems like, and half the fun is exploring new water. Then you can be the one to sit back and decide what secrets to let out when someone comes on the post and asks where the good smallmouth water is.

Man, do I wish I was fishing right now.

Depending on your boat, work anywhere from Stillwater up to Taylors Falls for smallies. They don't always follow the standard rules (i.e. eddies, rip rap, etc.) so start tossing the lures around and see what comes up.
