EyeChsr
Just upgraded from an older fl-8 to a new fl-20. My question is should a guy get a proview ducer or the tri-beam or just stick with the one it came with? What's the advantages of the other ducers? Thanks. Whoaru99
Just upgraded from an older fl-8 to a new fl-20. My question is should a guy get a proview ducer or the tri-beam or just stick with the one it came with? What's the advantages of the other ducers? Thanks. I have a FL-8. I stuck with the one it came with until that one wasn't working well (compared to trying my FL-8 using a friend's transducer) then I bought a ProView. Will be trying it out tomorrow for the first time.
Genofish
I replaced mine last year with the pro view, the cone angle changes by adjusting the gain
EyeChsr
Was it better than the original ducer
pushbutton
At about the halfway point the vid starts to spell out the differences.
Jdjulik
I like my proview, The only thing that sucks is it gets interference or picks up readings from Suffix ice braid line when first dropping it down the hole for about the first 20 seconds. Its almost like I have a small jig tied on my line ever 6". All other line I have not had this happen, just this line for some reason which sucks because I really like the line lol. swmndeerhunter
Which transducer did it come with?
mamohr686
Do not spend your money on a tri-beam. They are junk. Figure out what depth you spend most of your time fishing, and make a decision on which cone angle suits your fishing from that. From my understanding, Proview is 9 degree variable cone cone angle. It's intended more for a variable concentrated beam for guys using small tungsten jigs. If your fishing jumbo perch in 40ft of water, that would be my choice. Since I'm fishing suspended panfish most of the time, I exchanged my broken tri-beam for a standard 19 degree ice-ducer. This was my defective tri-beam that was babied, never bumped or dropped. Recon
I made the mistake of buying a new tri beam to replace the transducer on my fl 12! Big mistake, junk! Our old fl 8 with its original transducer, probably 15 years old, out performs the fl 12 ,with the tri beam, hands down! No comparison only way I can see my crappie ,jig in 40 of water with the tri beam is to max the gain out and then only when it decides to let me see it!! The fl 8" no problem 30, 40, 50 feet. Prime example of feeling like I got ripped off! I think I did!
