I can help with iphone question. What exactly is the question we are trying to solve?

I can see the community edits from other people but can't see anything that my friend has marked and he can't see anything I have marked. We both have the community edit button on and have synced our phones.

Once I tap the question mark next to the cross-Hairs and then tap marker is there anything else I need to do in order to save it so that others can see it?

Iphone steps to add marker for community.

1. Click plus sign or question mark on the spot you want

2. Click Edit Map

3. Click Generic Info

4. Click Fishing Spot

5. Fill in details and click Add. You will see a note under the Add button that says "Thank you. This input will be shared with the Navionics Community"

Just remember everyone with this app will be able to see these spots when you share them with the community. Another option to share spots with just your friend would be to tap the question mark when the crosshairs are above the spot, it will then show the coordinates at the top of the screen. You can then text the coordinates to him or just do a screen capture and text him the pic. Now all he has to do is tap the magnifying glass icon in the top left corner, then tap lat/long in the top right corner and plug the numbers in. Hit show on map and then tap the circle on the right side of the box that pops up, hit marker, then hit add. Now your spot is not public.

I think there is also a share option so you don't have to mess with coordinates.

I figure I will throw people off with all my "hot Spots", If people follow me and my advise They will soon realize I know nothing - absolutely nothing. Once I stop posting spots is when I will be catching fish or I have dropped my phone down the hole. Thanks for the advise.

Yeah you are right Dtro I forgot to mention I tried that too. It gave me the options of email, Facebook or the twitters to share it. I was only able to try the email because I don't have the other two. Did not work for me just got a basically blank google earth kmz file or something. Yeah MNbeef I wouldn't worry too much about just putting spots on there. I think you can delete them later anyway, not sure though. I can't say I've ever fished any community marked spots.
