slick2526
I would recommend highly NOT to buy these if you plan on using the with your auger. I had a brand new set and they both snapped off the base where the swivel on me going up a rough access. The auger went flying in front of me. Luckily it landed in a snow bank and didn't damage it.Kinda the reason I bought a ATV was to handle rough terrain and it was 30 degrees out also so it wasn't like the plastic was extremely cold. Should of known better then buying plastic accessories for a ATV
outkast7222
I had the same problem with the regular non ratchet ones. I now use them for what they were meant for, shovels, rakes and guns.
aanderud
I use the digger auger carrier on my snowmobile. I imagine it would fit on most ATVs as well, either out of the box or with minimal modifications.
guyonacouch
I put a Digger Auger carrier on my Honda Rubicon with no modifications. I too was using a plastic Kolpin gun rack and broke one off and had my auger nearly fall out - luckily I had a couple tarp straps on it! Everyone that sees my Digger rack wants one because they are rock solid and the auger is on and off with the one clamp system in less than 10 seconds. They work darn slick. slick2526
A friend has a set of metal ones that work well. the inside is rubber but they are heavy duty. I was questioning these plastic ones as soon as I bought them but I figured they would hold up since they were designed for atv. I will have to check out the auger carrier you speak of. are They designed so you can hold your auger motor at a certain position? Like keeping the cylinder on top and the tank of the bottom? Yes, they have a little L-bracket that sticks out and you set your engine on it using your preferred orientation, and you mount the auger in the 2 little u-shaped auger holders, then you clamp it down with a single cam latch mechanism. The bottom picture below shows 2 of the cam-hook things but mine only came with one.
gonehunting
Aanderud, Where did you get your second cam buckle if you don't mind me asking. I have never had any issues with the single but like the idea of having two. Thanks in advance.

I have never had any issues with the single but like the idea of having two. Thanks in advance. I don't have a second one -- the picture above was found using google image search. I imagine you'd need to just call digger up or email them and they'd mail you one for a few bucks -- but the problem would be attaching it to your auger carrier square tube. I emailed them and got a custom-length L-bracket a couple years ago, because the nilsmaster auger I had didn't sit on the one they had shipped. I don't think they had a lot of nils augers, and the bracket/neck on that auger is just a bit longer. That was no problem at all. Doug Lien was the guy's name there, and he was very easy to work with. These are the best auger carriers I've seen anywhere.
