MarCum LX-6 Flashing Scale Bar Tick Marks in Chart Mode?

Recommended Posts

My LX-7 does the same thing. I called Marcum and they told me if I could wait to send it in after the season is done. I'm still debating if I want to send it in now to make sure it is fixed or wait. I also noticed last time out that my digital depth jumps, bottom changes and range scale flashes quite a bit when I am using the dynamic depth scale. I also am getting that annoying black triangle where the bottom part of the flasher dial every now and then.

Just out of curosity are you guys running the latest software, 3.17 I believe?

The display modes or ticks flashing constantly is not normal or a maybe a wrong upgrade was applied?

There is still screen garble or pixelation is still present in the 3.17 software, just less noticeable. You will see the issue most likely while in Dynamic range mode. Switching to Auto depth will help minimize or eliminate this as well as the erratic depth jumps.

Dynamic range appears to still need software tweaks, it can lead one thinking there is something wrong with the unit when there may be nothing wrong hardware wise. Marcum is rumored to have a software update that was expected in past Dec but there is no release yet?

I've had none of the other described issues running v3.17 on my lx-6 but have read about these issues with previous software versions. I've had zero issues with this unit, other than this minor annoyance. I described the issue to MarCum via email yesterday to which they responded "The issue you are talking about is a known software glitch." I guess we'll see if it gets ironed out with the next software update. Gotta say though, even with this glitch, since I've had this unit the FL-8 hasn't sniffed the water.

Yes I am running the 3.17. When I talked to the guys at Marcum they were unaware of this problem. Guess they must have had some more complaints about this since I talked to them. It clears up when I run it in anything other than dynamic.
