hunter322
I'm sure its been asked before but I'm going to ask it again. Is there anything special I need to do when changing water in my minnow bucket if I have city water?
amateurfishing
u can use city water but will need to let it rest 24-48 hourseasiest thing is just add some fresh snow every day and let it thaw in bucket with minnows, if/when water level gets too high, pour some out and repeat with snow
Luke_M
Letting it sit won't work anymore. City's no longer just use chlorine they use chloramine and that won't evaporate out of the water. If you go to an aquarium store you can pick up dechlorinator and an air pump to keep your minnows fresh for days.
Gordie
If you add snow every other day of everyday that will also extend the life of the water and minnows.

Eric_Kruger
i use city water all the time. going on 2 months with this batch of minnows. I just let it sit out overnight. Leave them in a medical grade foam container in the garage.
DrJuice1980
I've never let it sit out. Dump out, fill up, add a few snowballs and repeat every 3 days or so. I've been good on these for 3 weeks on these.

Yep, I have creek chubs alive all winter that way just have to remember to keep a cover on the container with those creek chubs as they will commit suicide by jumping out.
