GSP4ME
For any of you electrical wizards out there is there a way to wire a charger for my phone to the battery that runs my electric lights in my jason Mitchell one man fish house
randerson
Just get a 12volt female plug from any auto parts store or FF and add it to the main battery wiring
Wolffy
not familiar with the fish house but any 12v supply is very easy to connect a 12v power supply to, aka a cigarette lighter like in a vehicle. If you have a flasher or a camera most of them use a 12v battery. go to most any hardware store or box store and look for a power point like mentioned. wire into such battery and use a car charger. Sorry he beat me to it^
LakeDocktor
I use one of these and they are awesome! A fully charged Stone will charge your phone 2-3 times. They will also work on tablets, iPads, or anything with a USB charging cord.I also have a coupon code if you want to save a few extra $. Send me a PM if you would like the code.http://www.solarsportsmanstore.com/product-p/gs-bat-stone1.htm
Wolffy
if your gunna go the power pack way there are cheaper ways then that. but they are very handy. but back to the 12v battery way i use a flasher battery to power 2 led lights in my portable, a computer fan, and a car charger for the cell phone. i can run 2 or 3 days before the battery even has a volt drop in it. GSP4ME
That bottom one in the picture is exactly what I am looking for. It would connect right where my fishhouse lights plug in to my battery. Any idea where to find one of those with that type of connection

LightningBG
chances are you'll have to buy the plug and the spade connectors separately and put them together. both should be available at your local farm / hardware store.

aanderud
Quote:Not hijacking the thread but I have a spare lighter socket and am wondering if it matters which part is "hot"? and how do I determin that?Yes, it matters. I used one with alligator clips for years without issue, then one time in the dark accidentally hooked the alligator clips up to the battery backward and blew my H20 GPS. Lowrance apparently didn't feel that reverse-polarity protection was worth the extra 50 cents to put a low-voltage-drop mosfet circuit in place to protect against reverse polarity....You can google around to see what the standard way to wire them is, but easiest thing to do is just hook the cigaratte plug up one way and make sure the voltage difference from center to outside of the cigarette plug matches a measured voltage in a pre-wired installation (e.g. your vehicle). If you get the opposite voltage, reverse your wires and verify that it now matches, polarity-wise.
