Pitted windshield

We've got a 2011 Chev Impala with 35,000 miles on it and I've noticed that when going into the sun small pits really show up in the windshield. Looks like we've been doing all our driving following gravel trucks around. Car is rarely driven on gravel. Never had a windshield pit up like this before. Car sits in sun a little bit during the day. Just wondering if anybody else was having this happen?

windshields on every vehicle I've owned have pitted within 35k miles. Normal wear/tear.

So here in AZ, we are lucky to get that many miles on glass. With the desert sand blowing it pits the glass quickly. I usually get 2 glass a year because of it. I drive 100 miles a day and will catch a rock or two, usually right after they replace the glass tho.

It's normal. Think about all the times it has been pelted while driving behind a gravel truck, plow truck, or cars in front driving down a freshly salted road.

If you have glass coverage on your insurance plan, and it gets bad enough, they may cover the replacement. I had one of mine replaced by the insurance company for this years ago. It was so bad that it was just about impossible to see put it while driving towards the sun.

Riding a motorcycle makes it even more apparent how much debris is kicked up while driving/riding. It also makes one appreciate a screen in front of you. Bugs HURT!
