My buddy has been doing pretty well on the panfish just about everywhere he goes, and has been getting occasional walleyes. I haven't been up there. He is still walking out, but there are a few vehicles that have been driving out.

Some lakes are better than others.

A buddy of mine checked Big Round today and found a ton of slush, with a couple trucks stuck. While other lakes in the area are in great shape.

You should be fine, but no ice is safe.......

I drove over most of Balsam last weekend and found 16'' plus and no slush. On Half Moon I drove from the main access and off the south side and found more of the same. I'd love a report off of any other area lakes if your out. Night crappie bite was pretty good on Balsam, minnows were best.

Bone Lake was really good 20ft and deeper lots of eater perch and sunny. Big Butternut is really active. I ll be there this weekend to catch some eaters. On Big Butternut we were really successful with minnows and with waxies on Bone. I haven't set any tip ups on those lakes this season so I ll try that this weekend too
