What I read is the indicator wont work when charging the battery, or when plugged into the flasher head with the flasher turned on. I read it will only work when its hooked to the battery alone with nothing else hooked to it or using the battery power.

I have never heard this before so I was wondering if any truth is behind this statement at all? I was going to order one today since I am building custom flasher box and I have never researched the battery indicator before.

hmmmm, I can see mine works when I charge the battery. reads 100% when fully charged and goes green on the wall plug in. Flasher turned on I can read it. Decreases as power is used for while. When charger is plugged into wall I can turn the unit on an still see the indicator. Don't know what else I would plug into the thing. smile Order and enjoy.

I was reading some reviews that the indicator will only work when the vexilar is off and nothing else is plugged into it. Is this true?

That is false. My Fl22 utrapack shows the battery life as expected while running my unit. The Ultra pack does have the on/off button so the d130 will not draw any battery power when in the off mode.

When charging, I don't really pay attention to the meter, I watch for the indicator on the charger to turn from Red to Green.
