Good evening,

I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I was part of the Minnesota section and recently moved out west. It was supposed to be a trip for a while but it was too much to give up.

ME: My name is Mike

AGE: 35

Fishing: I fish both open water and ice fishing.

Ice fishing: This will be my first time ice fishing in Colorado and pretty much hoping for the best. I have all that is needed....heater, XL2000 by Clam, etc, etc and I use a modified sled to carry all if I am going further out.

Anyways, I am up in Westminster at the moment and would love to meet and go fishing if anyone is up for that.

Best,

Mike

Hey Mike! Colorado is awesome isn't it? I moved out from MN last January, did a lot of ice fishing last winter but I'll be hitting it even harder this winter. I've been out twice already and I struck out on 3 different lakes today. The snow up in the mountains last night and this morning ruined all the ice - which is a bummer! We'll have to meet up this winter. If you have any questions on lakes to target this winter feel free to ask. I most definitely don't know them all but I can tell you what I do know about them!

Hello everyone!

Hope you all are excited for a great season on the water. So I went back home to bring my ice fishing equipment back here and am all set to go.

I was wondering if anyone wants to join me or can suggest some lakes that are frozen over for body weight near the frontline of the mountains, or do I need to go very deep into them to get to the lakes?

Thank you,

Mike

It looks like you're up in Denver. Those lakes (Cherry Creek, Aurora, Chatfield) were just starting to ice and now with these crazy winds I've heard it's halted and even chewed away at the ice making process. If you want to head west into the mountains for some scenic fishing I know Georgetown is iced up (gets windy there) and Officer Gulch is a good place to go to catch lots of Brookies. Eleven Mile and Antero are good to go and giving up large trout but they are down this way. The Delaney's are iced up as well. If you pick any specific targets in your research, let me know!

Thanks so much, MN BassFisher. This is good info. I will let you know when I get out there/choose a location.

P.S. When it comes to fishing, I will drive anywhere. LOL

Thanks,

Mike

Yeah do that man! I'm back in MN until the 30th but after that we'll have to hit the ice!
