The fat red leg Canadian Mallards are here!

With any luck at all the season will at least carry through the thanksgiving weekend.

What a dissapointment to have so many fat greenies around and just have to whatch them go round and round. I did email Steve Cordts about this seasons dates.I think if hunters let them know that they would like the season through the thanksgiving weekend they are willing to listen. Who knows even make some adjustments. From deer hunting to right now is the best time to harvest these birds in my area. I'm not into swatting bugs and hunting tiny teal in sept. Like many of you I wait for this time.

I agree fishgutz. I'm not much of a fan of blowing off shells that cost nearly a buck a piece at teal and wood ducks. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, or anyone that does it is wrong. Just not my cup of tea. I simply prefer the big birds that come down late in the season, and we're pretty much always closed down up here by the time they start to show up.

On the way into Fargo/Moorehead on Wednesday morning I watched thousands of greenheads tornadoing into a cut/chopped corn field up north of town. I'd drive down there again just to have a chance at that bunch, unfortunately I was just down there for family Thanksgiving gathering.
