GSP4ME
Last year I got a late start to the season but killed them down on the Croix.I am looking at trying to get out early this year and would not mind a drive. Even as far as the Dakotas. Any thoughts on areas and species. I am still waiting to pull my first walleye out of the ice. Yep never have pulled on through the ice. Never learned how to fish them in the winter. Mainly been panfish and some tip ups for Northerns. SO with that said I am not looking for anyones special honey hole or secret spot just some thoughts and ideas. If I can help anyone out anyway let me knowJake

ParaPro
Both LOTW and Red can make about anyone look like Al Lindner Jr. The dakotas are very good too in the Webster area, plus the bonus of jumbo perch!
dangnear
My shack is a 6.5' x 16'canvas drop down wheel house Only weighs 900#,You donot have to colaps it to travel on the road ether North Country Canvas sells them
castmaster
As others have mentioned Red and LOTW are great options. Devils Lake would be another one worth looking into. There you get the bonus of possibly getting onto some of the dandy jumbo perch. Pike fishing is great as well. And one nice thing out there is you have an almost endless amount of different structure options to fish. Your not sitting on top of a big bowl hoping the fish swim through the area your set up in.
