Northern Wi Rut report

Recommended Posts

Feels like the very early stages yet. For some reason 11/3 was an active day on the camera but haven't seen any chasing or even much for rubs and scrapes. Sat this morning and all I have to report is wind. Maybe I have myself fooled but I'm hoping the late moon produces some action.

Seeing a few deer, but logging hours in the woods for action. Did see a good buck with a doe the other day, he was doing a little grunting as he was walking. And last Friday had a group of does around my stand. When thy left, a smaller buck came in smelling and also doing a little light grunting. Hoping action picks up, but with start of rifle coming I am sure deer will head to unknown whereabouts or vanish for the next few weeks. Hoping I have a chance the next few days before the orange armies invade the woods. But also looking forward to having a rifle in hand in case I see a nice deer. Hope everyone has a great season!
