Hi all,

My wife and I have decided we would like to get a GSP puppy in the spring. Our goal is to train this dog for upland birds mainly grouse and pheasants. We live just north of Anoka and are looking for advice on potential breeders to look into. Please let me know if there are any you would recommend as well as any you would stay away from. How does this typically work once I decide on a breeder? Will we need to get our name on a list to reserve a dog from a particular litter? Preferences on male or female? We are undecided if we will train ourselves so please give me your opinions on the difficulty of this as well as a trainer you may recommend. Thanks in advance for all of the help.

Sharp Shooters Kennel in New Richmond, Wis is the first name that comes to mind that is close to you. Clyde has a pretty good reputation with GSP's.

You could also join your local NAVHDA chapter and get some leads that way.

Good luck.
