Lures

Hey guys,

I haven't used much for lures as my experience consists of mostly Raccoon, Muskrat, and Beaver trapping through the ice. I'm wondering what your take on lures is. Do you use them? If not, why? If so, what species do you use them for, and specifically what brands do you really like?

Honestly, there is such a large selection of lures it's a little intimidating. I don't know where to start, if starting is even necessary.

Depends on what your target animal is...I have a lot of experience with Red Fox, and Carmen's Pro's Choice (combine with a good bait) is my go to lure for fox...coon, mink, rats, and beaver I typically just use blind sets. Sometimes i'll use fish oil with fish carcasses for coon and mink.

Jim, I have a coon that comes in my yard almost every night in the Summer/fall. I am not sure if he is still coming or not. Also had a grey fox on my trail cam. I'd love for you to set a trap in my yard to try and get him. PM is you'd like.
