dairyman
Just got the latest "ice Fishing" guideAll I can say is wow-----------seems like prices this year are way out there. Doesn't seem to matter what your in the market for----it's going to cost you
mrpike1973
i agree they used to say ice fishing was so cheap to get into. i have less in my boat than i do all my ice gear but its sure fun to buy. the cost of some of the houses for a hunk of plastic conduit and tarp just doesnt seem right
Scott O.
I would agree. Having worked in an outdoor retail store for a few years, I've seen how the products have gone up in price from year to year. The augers seem to stay about the same, but shacks keep going up in price, this year especially. I noticed an increase of close to $80-$100 on some major brand shacks and nothing really changed on them that would cause such an increase. As technology keeps getting better in the industry, up goes the price. It's the price we pay to do what we love. Just hope it doesn't get to the point where it forces some to not go out and try it. gonehunting
Keep an eye on the "list by Craig". In the last year I've bought a Otter Lodge Thermal with hitch, hifax, cover, and Big Buddy Heater for $700, Vexilar FL-20 for $325, and a New Strikemaster Lazer Pro for $300. You can find deals but need to look during the end of winter or off season.
