onthefly
Looking for a recommendation on best value waders. I'll spend $250 IF that buys a pair more durable/comfortable than the rest. Have el-cheapo guide series waders in 3.5mm neoprene w/ 800 gram boots.
Scott M
$150 to $170 Cabela's lug sole Neostretch Waders in 3 or 5 mm have been great for me. They have the center pocket and D rings, hardy straps, good boots (800 or 1000 gram Thinsulate I believe?), and have held up very well for me. I haven't crossed more than a handful of barbwire fences but have put the miles on - mostly waterfowl hunting with some fishing duties on occasion....I just checked, and those waders are getting 4.5/5 stars at Cabela's HSOforum. I'd give them a try. Great value in my opinion.
BoxMN
Neoprene stocking foot ($80 Cabelas cheapies), with the deluxe Cabelas boots (about $70 not on sale). Could go jogging in them and you will never have the feeling of the muck pulling the boots off your heals ever again. Takes a hair longer to put on, cause you have to tie them, but way easier to store, dry, and cheap to replace once you have the boots. I have some Gander brand ones now, but for whatever reason the Cabelas ones I have had in the past are better and last longer. Could not get me to buy another "boot foot" pair ever, unless I know I was only going to walk about 100 feet total while out hunting. Good luck. Walleye Guy
Cabela's Dry-plus waders. They are ligtweight, easy to get on and off and durable. Great for the early season by themselves and add a pair of $30 wader liners when it gets cold. MJ1657
onthefly
What about warmth in cold cold temps with stocking feet? Seems like I end up on a few late season hunts on a river or big water and the added boot insulation is nice!
BoxMN
What about warmth in cold cold temps with stocking feet? Seems like I end up on a few late season hunts on a river or big water and the added boot insulation is nice! I have been using them for the last about 15 years. I can count the number of times my feet have been cold, and that was due to leak in waders. I got size 13 boots this time, and the better boots, and with the neoprene, some thick quality socks, I don't see my feet getting cold. We hunt right up to last day. fishhound2013
Wearing Drake Eqwaders right now and I couldnt be happier. I have a really wide foot and cant really wear anything else. Other than that they have proven to be really good quality. They have nylon over prone to tear places too.
