Full Moon madness

Did anyone fish the full moon last night?

I was on the water at 7pm and fished until 3am.

Threw a black and blue buzzbait and a single colorado blade black and blue spinnerbait.

Biggest was a 20" 5lb 4oz largemouth.

Caught 48 bass and 2 Pike.

Going to do it again tonight.

Somehow I think you got just the perfect storm of conditions for that last night. If you get that kind of luck tonight, I'd be extremely surprised with the onset of this stupid cold front during the day.... Good luck though!

On the water now.

Fishing has been good, not as great as last night.

Flat calm and the moon is rising, a chill in the air. Conditions are perfect.

Rum, how did you do last night?

Do you find clear lakes work better at night or will dingy lakes produce a top water bite at night too?

The lake I was on Thursday night and the first part of Friday night has about 3 foot visibility and that gets better everyday in the fall as the water cools.

I fished 2 lakes Friday night, the second lake is very clear with a weedline as deep as 15 to 18 feet.

The lake I fished Thursday and the first part of Friday night is a great topwater lake even with the dingy water, in the summer it is a dark/low light bite.

Buzzbaits or prop baits work better, the fish need the constant noise/vibration to track the bait down.

On the clear lake subtle topwaters like a spook seem to work better.

Just pulled my boat out of the dingy lake, wanted to see of the buzzbait bite was going in daylight hours yet, managed to catch a bunch of pike and a few bass on the buzzbait. The pike were quite annoying, beat the snot out of 2 buzzbaits.

In the last 3 days I have spent almost 30 hours on the water, need to go home and take a nap!
