How do you hook live frogs??

Going to be camping on the shore of a lake this weekend, been seeing quite a few frogs hopping around my place, thought I'd catch a few and try to cast them out - but not sure of the best way to hook them?? Thru the lips? Backend? And what kind of hook would be best?? Treble or a single?

I use a harness that is a smaller version of the kitty harness I use for muskie fishing.... grin

I usually hook them either thru a leg or up under the mouth. Both work.

I wouldn't use a treble hook. The frog will hook itself on the other hooks while flailing around. You will also catch more weeds.

I prefer to use a 2/0 hook and run the hook through the top of the nose and out then bury the point of the hook into the upper part of a back leg. This lets you pitch them with out tearing the hook through the nose. If you have access to live frogs this is getting that time of the year when you can get in on the frog migration bite.
