kill switch on 9.9 yamaha and oil; ratio

hi i love this motor it says to run at 100/1 is this right i'm using 50/1 is this ok? then when i try to turn off the motor i have to use the lanyard and pull it off if i push on the button real hard i mean hard it will shut off but i think my thumb will to. do i just need a new switch

If the book says 100-1 why would you think 50-1 is okay? Do what the book says.

I bought an Evinrude 30 that had a 100:1 sticker on it. After some online research I found that for a period of time the motor manufacturer said 100:1 was ok but they had so many burned up engines they had to fix under warranty that they changed it back to 50:1. The stickers remain on those motors that are still out there though. If you go 100:1 you better use Amsoil or an oil that is rated for that, otherwise 50:1
