dan z
I have a new never on the ice shelter but my only concern is the toughnessof the sled. How are there tubs compared to otters?
JSK76
Not in the same league and I own both. That's not saying the JM isn't good I just think of it as designed for a different use. I'm glad the JM sled is thinner it saves weight and that's why I bought it, a nice light easy to pull one man. i wouldn't recommend pulling it 100's of miles on LOW behind the atv or snowmobile, for one it so light and short I think it would bounce all over. But you could always put hyfax on in and pull it behind a atv or sled if you had to. If just pulling it out by hand or pulling it out of the back of your truck at the fishing spot just use it as is, it will be fine.

They are designed with completely different strengths. Otter has the strength and durability, Clam has the mobility and functionality. They are just different animals.I did pull my JM Pro behind the snowmobile a fair amount last year including 4 days on LOTW and probably 15-20 short trips here in MN. It held up fine with zero problems or issues but it was brand new as well. I would be very suprised if the tub lasted 10+ years taking that abuse like the otter has but again, that's not what it was designed to do.
