lungdeflator
You guys with perm schacks out there, what do you do to move it? Most I see are just skids on the side of it. I fixed some old down hill skis to the skids on my last house. How about getting it to the lake? Some are small enough to fit in the back of the truck. Other guys use a trailer? Anybody have a winch mounted on the trailer to help load it?Any other thoughts?
Gordie
Mine loads in the back of my truck and the skids are on the bottom they are detachable or the move out of the way much like a retractable wheel ice house. I should use a winch to get my house on the truck but I just call merkman and he throws it on back with out me breaking a sweat . I also use a trailer to haul mine. merkman has the ticket with his stuff and I'm sure he will chime in soon.
lungdeflator
any pics of anybodys setups??
MJ1657
I've got a 10,000 equipment trailer I haul mine on. I hope someone comes over and hopes me jack it up and wrestle it onto it.( a couple guys on this board always do) Then I hope the ice is thick enough to pull it out there but it usually isn't.... So then we have to fight with it to get it onto my sled with skis on it that I pull behind my atv. Finally we get it tipped off that by some stroke of luck without it flipping over.Wait until I tell you about getting it off the lake!!!!!! lungdeflator
I like that last one. I know I have an old trailer laying around I could probably retro fit and make it work! Cant wait!
Canatrapper
Hey Merk man, that picture, it wouldn't be from the elk lake boat launch would it? Not sure where you are from
KenM1987
that sure does look a lot like the elk lake public access
lungdeflator
Here is what I ended up with.... House is 6x8 outside diameter. 2x2 walls with 3/8" plywood. 2x2 roof with roofing metal. The trailer was an old one we had laying around the hunting cabin. I took the decking off the trailer and welded angle iron (the kind with pre drilled holes on one side) in a square. The iron and welding cost a case of beer... I am really happy with it. I can tilt it down on the wheels and easily get it hooked up to the truck from there. And tilting it back up onto the floor is easier. Waiting on ice!
