Navionics APP "Differences"

I've been getting email updates thru navionics and yesterday thought I would "kick the can" online and see what they mean. I came across smart phone apps 9.99 then HD 49.99. anyone aware of the Navionics HD apps? are they worth 49.99? what is the difference? would it make a difference to a novice recreational angler like myself?

I am not familiar with anything branded HD in that price range. I know the Tablet app is considered HD, but I don't think that is 49.99.

The PC App is higher priced.

There is almost no difference between the smartphone and tablet version for iOS. iPad version is branded as HD, biggest factor would better detail maps & screen size making it easier for chart plotting etc. iPad version does cost more in upwards of $30-$55. Smartphone version is typically $9-$15.

iPad version also has a $7.00 ad on map enhancement feature that works similar to Humminbird with a Lakemaster chip. You can choose to highlight a depth range, highlight shallow water areas and also offset the depth on the map to match actual depth. The last is helpful in areas where the depth fluctuates a lot.

I have it for my droid and it was $10. Best app I have on my phone 10 fold
