Propwash suggestions?

I've heard a little talk about this before but my theory is if a muskie is going to hit a lure in your prop wash, shes probably quite aggressive and would hit your lure no matter what. Personally, it sounds like a great way to do a lot of fishing, not catching...

I tried it once a few years ago after first hearing about it. I'm not a big troller but gave it a try for maybe 2 hours middle of a sunny day and while I didn't catch/see any muskies did catch 3 pike over 30" and each one destroyed the lure it hit

Prop-wash trolling works. It works in open water and "on shore." The best way to experiment with it is while you troll with multiple people in the boat - say four lines out... Leave one bait (such as a Sledge, Danny Bait, or Big Daddy)just off to one side of the prop wash. I've actually done better with shallow diving baits, as such, rather than the typical trolling baits such as a Grandma, Jake or Swim Whiz. I've even done well with bucktails or Spinnerbaits in or near the wash when trolling in or near weedbeds.

I normally put about 15 to 20 feet of line out and sometimes angle the rod down if need be. Remember to back the drag off as you troll as a 1,000 plus pound boat sets the hook quite effectively whenever the fish decides to let go of the bait... you don't want the line, terminal tackle or hooks to fail or have the hooks rip out.
