Best way to get Pigeons for pup in Twin Cities Area

I have a 5-1/2 month old springer pup that I want to get on some live/dead pigeons in the coming months and was wondering what people suggest for doing this? I live in the south metro area so cant really keep live ones at my house, but could stash a few dead ones in the freezer to start out.

Horse & Hunt Club should be able to take care of you. If not pigeons, they will have chukar.

I recommend a butterfly net and some bread by a park bench.

Lake Calhoun has pigeons AND nice scenery.

Stop by any local farmer that has a barn or silo and I would bet he would be more than happy to let you take out a few pigeons.

Pigeons are fair game year round.

Go find a farm and get permission and kill a bunch.

Hey ckgsp do you regularly have birds that you sell? I live in Prior Lake and will be needing to buy some every week over the next few months. Anyone else know of places in the south metro to get some live birds?

We do try and keep birds most of the year. This year we have turned so many over we only have about 25 Pheasants at this time and about 20-30 bobs mixed with chukar. we can help you out on a few birds if you need them.

Long handled fishing net and a flashlight at night. Hit some parking ramps and you'll get live birds.

You should be able to find pigeons easily on C List. That is where I found some to train my pup earlier this summer. Should be able to get them for 5 or 6 buck per bird. A lot cheaper than pheasants.
